The Birth of a Baby
is also the Birth of a Mother.
The birth of a baby is also the birth of a mother.
It's natural but that doesn't mean it's easy.
But when it comes to breastfeeding, most moms end up winging it, and that lack of preparation, knowledge and real support has the potential to derail even the most committed of breastfeeding moms. Something that should be full of joy and connection can quickly become stressful and overwhelming...
It doesn’t have to be this way.

I am 8 1/2 months preganant. With my first baby, I didn´t take any breastfeeding classes and I ended up with sore and cracked nipples, I didn´t know it was a science to breastfeed. I learned sooo much with your classes that now I feel confident and determined I am going to do it right from the first time. Thank you so much for your advice!!! Loved it!

I am an RN, but was not taught most of this stuff, so I found myself learning tons with this class. Mostly about how to start and the tips to have the best experience really helped.

This class is wonderful, and I appreciate so much that I will be able to return to it as much as I need over the next few weeks. I have learned so much. My baby is actually 5 weeks old, and I have been struggling to breastfeed the entire time. Everyone and everything I looked up kept talking about proper positioning and latch, but there is so little complete and helpful information available about what this actually means. I am looking forward to implementing these new techniques and have great hope that they will improve breastfeeding for me and my baby and eliminate the problems we have been having.

Personally I learned more then I've ever known. Being educated about breast feeding is so important that it will definitely increase my commitment and later my confidence with breast feeding. Not only will I be sure of myself but I know baby and I will be bonding and building our relationship from outside the womb . Thanks you so much , I'll definitely will be going back to these classes just to refresh my memory!

Breast milk provides protection against many illnesses.
In a similar situation to COVID-19, the CDC recommends that a mother with flu continue breastfeeding or feeding expressed breast milk to her infant while taking precautions to avoid spreading the virus to her infant. Given low rates of transmission of respiratory viruses through breast milk, the World Health Organization states that mothers with COVID-19 can and should breastfeed. It is the best way to keep your baby as healthy as possible.
Even under the best circumstances, hospitals are rarely equipped with the appropriate resources to support breastfeeding moms, and nurses don’t have the time to stay and help. This is especially true during a pandemic. Lactation consultants are often considered non-essential right now as well, which means they may not be available either.
Even under ideal conditions, nurses aren’t always trained adequately about breastfeeding and can even give incorrect advice and create unrealistic expectations that lead to breastfeeding problems in the future. If you are fortunate enough to receive adequate assistance, you’ll inevitably be discharged before many of the potential difficulties occur.
That’s precisely why I created the Simply Breastfeeding Course. While most parents prepare for the delivery, very few prepare at the same lengths for feeding their babies. With proper training and dozens of videos of real moms breastfeeding at your fingertips, you’ll be fully prepared to overcome any challenges you might face. Knowledge is power, mama!
I love books, and there are a lot of good ones about breastfeeding. I’ve probably read them all! What they lack, though, are video tutorials and demonstrations of moms breastfeeding correctly. In my three decades of experience, it’s these visuals that make all the difference in successfully equipping moms to breastfeed.
I can’t answer this question emphatically enough: YES! When moms struggle to breastfeed their babies, their partners frequently feel helpless. By sharing this knowledge with them, they feel empowered to help. Frankly, they often have a better angle to see what is or isn’t happening. I always encourage couples to treat this course just as they treat a birthing class: It’s absolutely essential.
Good news: Absolutely not! No matter where you are on your breastfeeding journey, you will find tremendous value in this course, all the other valuable content, and the community that we’ve built around it - even if your baby has already been born. Often it is the lack of knowledge about the most basic facts that will steer you off course unnecessarily.
A good foundation to breastfeed my newborn, I really loved the class. It really made a difference in our lives. We were desperate when we came across this online training. Now thanks to Shari together with some local assistance I am happily breastfeeding my son. Thank you so much Shari!

I almost don't know where to begin! I'm a family physician and I learned so much valuable information. First, just understanding that breastfeeding is the biological norm will completely change the way I view and counsel my patients on breastfeeding. The class was so thorough and I loved the troubleshooting as far as engorgement and what to expect with the first few weeks so that I'm not panicking. The visual aids really helped put things together. I greatly recommend this class to show my residents.

What can I say....I got this late...When my nipples were bleeding and all. I havent and will not give up. I am treating my sore nipples and correcting positions that I should have done from the start. These videos have helped me learn alot and correct everything I was doing wrong. Thank you sooooooo much for this information that was sooo helpful now I am treating my nipples but continue to breastfeed.

BREAST PUMPS & BRIEFCASES
You just need a plan. Whether you need to go back to work, worried about introducing your baby to the bottle, finding the right way to store your milk, or how to choose and use a breast pump, I’ll guide you through it. Whatever your personal breastfeeding goals, I’ll help you reach them with this Online Course.
LOW MILK SUPPLY
No matter how well breastfeeding is going or how committed to the process you’ve become, you may still have worries about your milk supply. In fact, it’s one of the most common concerns and questions I’m asked about. As a mom, it's perfectly natural to want to know that your baby is getting everything it needs. It may feel confusing, but it certainly doesn’t have to be.
PLUGGED DUCTS, MASTITIS & YEAST
Plugged ducts, mastitis, and yeast infections in the breast are three of the most common issues breastfeeding moms face. Knowing what to look for, how to prevent them, and when to seek treatment are critical skills every breastfeeding mom needs. Without the right information, any one of these issues can derail your decision to breastfeed. But don’t worry - I've got you covered!
COMFORT PUMPING
Unless your pump is comfortable, you're not going to use it. Not only that, if you're in pain, your body won't respond and your milk supply will suffer. After all, the more milk you express the more milk you make. It all begins with a better understanding of how your body works. Learn why comfort and pain are the most important aspects of both pumping AND breastfeeding.
CLOTH DIAPERING
From your baby’s delicate skin to the environmental impact, what’s the deal? You may be thinking...what about the hassle, the pins, and of course, the poop! Isn’t it just easier to buy disposable diapers and be done with it? Over the course of nine fun and informative chapters, I’ll answer all of your questions and more.
